Anthony Edwards — Minnesota Timberwolves — A permanent record: this Museum Artifact ID stays with this piece for good, independent of which gallery it's currently displayed in.
Hurt and out for the game, he still stopped for every fan waiting in the tunnel.
Anthony Edwards has meant something to this family for a while now. Both boys are drawn to his game the same way — the skill, the athleticism, the way he plays like he's daring you to look away. Christian pulled his first pack-pulled auto 10 on an Ant Edwards card, the kind of hit that sticks with you regardless of what eventually happens to the card itself.
We've had the privilege of meeting Ant a few times over the years, and he's never once made it feel like an inconvenience. This time was no different, even though the circumstances were — he was on the injured list, not playing that night, with every reason to walk past and keep moving. He didn't. He stood in that tunnel and signed for every fan who'd waited for him, this Donruss Optic Rated Rookie among them. The camera never left the card from the moment it came out to the moment the signature was finished.
An injury list doesn't usually come with this kind of generosity attached. We noticed, and we're grateful for it.
This one stands on its own — a player who's mattered to this family for years, caught on camera being exactly who we already knew he was.
