Six Years Later — Nickeil Alexander-Walker's Donruss Rated Rookie Autograph
The rookie card finally met the man who was on it — six years after it was printed, on camera the whole way through.
We've been fans of this family for a long time, so when the Hawks came through Kia Center in Orlando on October 24, 2025, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker was on the roster after his summer sign-and-trade from Minnesota, it felt like the right night to finally get his Donruss Rated Rookie signed — a card that had been waiting since his rookie season back in 2019-20.
He stopped in the tunnel and took the time to sign it properly: blue paint pen, pressed firmly into the card stock, a full and legible autograph that CGC and JSA would later grade a perfect 10. He was every bit as gracious as we'd hoped — unhurried, present, happy to talk for a moment.
The camera was rolling before he took the card and stayed on it until he handed it back — the full signature, start to finish, no cuts. That's the whole point of calling this an artifact instead of a memory: nobody has to take our word for it.
