Keegan Murray

Some players sign. Keegan Murray stops.

He arrived in the league in 2022 as the fourth pick in the draft and set the record for three-pointers by a rookie that first season, 206 of them. He helped Sacramento back to the playoffs for the first time in sixteen years, then stood in against the defending champions for seven games. On the floor he played without fear. What the Museum knows about him comes from somewhere else: the tunnel in Orlando, three seasons running.

March 23, 2024. Before tipoff, a high-five for Christian on his way past the rail. The camera caught that much. It missed what came after, when he came back and signed the cards held out to him. The Museum has those cards. It does not have the footage, and it says so.

March 29, 2025. After the game, in his practice shirt, he stopped again. Christian had four cards ready on a single page. Keegan signed all four, then stayed for a photograph with Caeden. Nothing about him was hurried. Four was simply every card he was handed.

March 26, 2026. He wasn't playing that night. An injury had kept him off the floor for weeks, and he was working his way back. He came through the tunnel anyway. The page held eight. Then a second page of eight, and a third. One for Christian, one for his father, one for a friend. Twenty-four signatures from a man who had every reason to keep walking, and he signed every one without hurrying.

His career has had its turns since that rookie season. That isn't what this Portrait is about.

Three times he had every reason to keep walking, and three times he didn't.
The family will cheer for him wherever the game takes him.
This Portrait stays open. Last added to March 26, 2026.

As seen in the reel — this is a story of the moment and the player, not one single card, which is why it isn't tied to a single artifact here.
